Enhancing performance with MitoActiv

Every activity of our body depends on a sufficient supply of our energy currency. This consists of the molecule called adenosine triphosphate, or ATP. The more of it we have and the faster we produce it, the greater our capacity to perform.

The main source of this energy undoubtedly lies in our mitochondria, small complex chemical factories that are found in almost all our cells and in varying concentrations. They are able to produce ample ATP from sugar, fat and oxygen. Because many reactions are needed for this and the path to ATP is long, this energy source, for all its efficiency, is not able to meet every performance requirement.

Fast and intense sports such as sprinting and bodybuilding demand, alongside the mitochondrial energy supply, an immediate replenishment as well. Because the mitochondria are not capable of this, the body has to cover this demand through so-called anaerobic metabolism. This route is direct, i.e. ATP is produced from sugar at once; the disadvantage is that this source is finite and soon runs out.

Energy support therefore requires a supply to both energy systems, as well as the possibility of storing this energy.

Promoting all these processes through an optimal supply of the essential micronutrients was the aim in formulating MitoActiv.

L-carnitine (1000mg): Channels fatty acids into the mitochondria

L-arginine (1000mg): Source of energy-rich nitrogen-phosphate compounds, precursor of nitric oxide, important for the dilation of blood vessels, for blood thinning and thus for the blood supply as well as for potency. Necessary in the detoxification of ammonia. Lowers blood pressure, stimulates the immune system. Promotes growth hormone.

Creatine (3000mg): Stores energy in the muscles and allows an immediate release of ATP. Promotes muscle building, increases muscle strength and at the same time raises physical and mental performance (learning, memory and stress tolerance). Improves recovery times after sporting activities, as well as bone density in the long term, and thus prevents osteoporosis.

Coenzyme Q 10 (30mg): Essential for the mitochondria in the conversion of sugar and fat into energy. At the same time an important antioxidant in the mitochondria. Deficiency is common when cholesterol-lowering drugs, so-called statins, are taken at the same time.

Alpha-lipoic acid (100mg) [EU version only]: Important for channelling sugar into the mitochondria. In addition, it can regenerate antioxidants used up in the body, such as vitamin C, vitamin E, coenzyme Q10 or glutathione. Detoxification of heavy metals.

Magnesium (200mg): Prerequisite for the function of ATP. Every ATP has to be bound to magnesium. Good against muscle cramps.

Manganese (2000ug): Essential in the activation of certain enzyme systems for making sugar available in the mitochondria. Active in the immune system in the breakdown of bacteria and viruses.

Zinc (10mg): Cofactor for more than 200 reactions. Key roles in the acid-base balance (deacidification after sport!), in sugar, fat and protein metabolism, in hormone synthesis and memory performance, as well as in the immune system.

Biotin - vitamin H (50ug): Biotin enables the conversion of food into glucose for energy production. It is also necessary for healthy skin, mucous membranes, hair and nails, as well as for a well-functioning nervous system.

Pantothenic acid (6mg): Important role in the metabolic processes in the mitochondria. Involved in the build-up and breakdown of carbohydrates, fats and amino acids and in the synthesis of cholesterol, which is needed for the formation of the steroid hormones.

Riboflavin (1mg), niacin / vitamin B3 (16mg): Necessary for the coenzyme NADH, which is involved in the conversion of pyruvic acid to lactic acid (in anaerobic energy production). B3 is also a natural cholesterol-lowering agent.

Thiamine (1mg): Coenzyme of pyruvate dehydrogenase, which channels sugar into the mitochondria.

Often seen:

  • Lower resting lactate
  • Shift of the lactate threshold to the right.
  • Longer aerobic phase and thus also higher anaerobic tolerance as well as maximum cumulative performance.
  • Aerobic fat-burning range extended

Main areas of use

  • Improvement of short-term as well as long-term performance and faster recovery time in sport and everyday life
  • Treatment of chronic exhaustion where iron deficiency has been ruled out or already treated (target ferritin 100 to 150ug/L).
  • Improvement of stress tolerance (burnout), concentration and learning ability.
  • Performance in old age / better ageing
  • Better energy supply in vegetarians.
  • As an accompaniment to any weight reduction in which optimal fat burning is the aim.
  • After illness and before/after operations
  • In patients with muscle disease and MS patients
  • As part of a biological cancer therapy to improve aerobic metabolism.

Feedback:

“After half an hour of aerobics I was always exhausted. Now I can train through the whole hour without any problem and am still fit.”

“After 1 hour at the computer I could no longer concentrate. Now 5 hours at a stretch are possible!”

“In the evenings I always had a craving for sweets and had to devour a bar of chocolate. This addiction is... simply gone!”

“Lost 3 kilos in a month without having changed anything else!”

“I can now pay better attention at school.”

“I feel much better. People say I look better, I am no longer depressed, I am more successful as a saleswoman as a result, and I am even interested in men again...”

85-year-old lady: “I feel as if I have been born again.”

“I have the impression that Mitoactiv really does work. After all, I lost two kg over Christmas(!), which is at least what I normally put on at this time of year.”
