Ostenil joint regeneration

Experience movement anew!

Treatment of osteoarthritis with OSTENIL® relieves pain and improves mobility.

What protective mechanisms are there in joints, and why does hyaluronic acid play a decisive role in them?

Normally the cartilage tissue is protected by a viscous (viscoelastic) fluid, the synovial fluid or joint lubricant, which contains a high proportion of a substance called hyaluronic acid, which is distinguished by the following properties:

  • Cushioning of mechanical load
  • Lubrication of the cartilage surfaces
  • Filtering of harmful and inflammation-promoting substances

The synovial fluid is thus an important bodily mechanism that protects the joint day after day during its numerous and varied movements (walking, getting over obstacles, carrying loads, sport, etc.).

What is meant by osteoarthritis?

Osteoarthritis is the term for a progressive rheumatic disease of the joints that shows itself in premature wear of the cartilage tissue. It is a wear-and-tear disease that leads to pain and a loss of mobility. In most cases the disease affects the knee area, but it can also affect the hip or wrist joints, the vertebral joints of the spine or the ankle joints.

Symptoms

The typical joint symptoms are pain and stiffness, which leads to a restriction of the range of movement. Loss of mobility and pain mean a severely impaired quality of life.

Why should you choose OSTENIL®?

OSTENIL® contains highly pure hyaluronic acid without animal proteins, which can trigger allergic reactions. Hyaluronic acid is of central importance for healthy joints!

How does treatment with OSTENIL® work?

With OSTENIL®, the natural balance inside joints is restored step by step, which leads to improved mobility and pain relief.

What else can I do?

  • Physical activity, strengthening
  • Stretching exercises
  • Avoid being overweight
  • Acid baths

How is OSTENIL® administered?

The treatment consists of a series of injections that are given once a week into the affected joint. The pain relief and the improvement in mobility appear very quickly and last for a period of 6 to 12 months. In rare cases there may be a localised, temporary reaction that takes the form of a painful discomfort that interferes with movement, or of swelling. To minimise the occurrence of such reactions, an ice pack can be placed on the treated area for 5 to 10 minutes.
